Below, you will find schedules and materials for Board of Trustee meetings. To view individual meeting agendas and minutes, please refer to the various committee pages. It is important to note that materials posted on this page were distributed in advance of each respective meeting and may have been revised after originally distributed. Action items approved by the Board are posted on the resolutions page following each meeting.
Meetings & Operations
The trustees meet as a full Board four times each year, twice in the fall and twice in the spring. The Board, operates through a series of standing committees (besides the executive committee), including committees on finance, investments, academic affairs, student affairs, board organization, and advancement.
Time Commitment
While it is recognized that ours is, in part, a volunteer board, it is expected that Trustees will participate in all Board meetings (4 meetings per year) and special sessions (e.g. orientations or retreats). Trustees also lead or serve on a standing committee(s) and may be asked to serve on ad hoc committees or a task force as needed. In calculating the overall commitment of time required for service on the Board, it is necessary to take into account the reading and review of materials (e.g., white papers, motions, reports, University's proposed programs, etc.) that are sent in advance of meetings. On average, Trustees commit a minimum of 10-12 hours per month, exclusive of travel. Attendance at Leighton's institutional commencement exercises, as well as at special events and/or other institutional events is strongly encouraged.
