PALE 362 Legal Writing II – 3 hour credits – This course is a continuation of Legal Research & Writing I with an emphasis on clear and effective legal writing. In this course, the student is exposed to more complicated legal research problems requiring careful research and detailed legal analysis. Students will also be instructed in computer assisted legal research. Assignments include various pleadings and court briefs. Prerequisite: Successful completion of PALE 220 with a grade of C or better.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon successful completion of this students will be able to:
- Prepare professionally written legal documents.
- Write a court brief.
- Analyze complicated scenarios, determine the legal issues involved and research the answers for the same using both primary and secondary sources of the law.
- Effectively use computers in his or her legal research.
