Board Of Trustees

Leighton University is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of up to 12 members, including: 

• The Chancellor (ex officio).
• Two internally elected members.
• Up to nine external community members.

Board members are responsible for:

• Setting the University’s vision, strategic directions, and overall goals and outcomes by following appropriate laws and other government policies, and the Strategic Plan.
• Approving Board policies.
• Approving the annual business plan, the University’s Strategic Plan, budget, and annual report.
• Hiring the chancellor.
• Delegating accountability for the performance and operation of the University to the chancellor.
• Evaluating the chancellor’s performance.
