Auditing courses is only permitted when space is available and is approved by the instructor As a student, you may preview or audit a course. Formal requests to audit a course can be made when registration closes. As an auditor, you may attend course(s) for No Credit. With the instructor's permission, you may audit a lecture/lab for more information.
To enroll in a class to audit, students must meet all course prerequisites and pay the applicable tuition rate and required fees. Audited courses are not eligible for institutional scholarships, carry no grade value, and do not impact a student's grade point average or academic standing. Students deciding to change from their original selection must do so in through the Office of the Registrar during the drop grace period by submitting the appropriate form.
If you are accepted into a course after an audit, pay $50.00 per credit hours in a recommendation from the Office the the Registrar. The audit fee is not refundable if the student decides to drop the course. Students who enroll in credit courses for 12 or more for that semester no fee will not be charged to audit three (3) or fewer credit hours for that specific term.
Mississippi Residents Age 65 +
Mississippi residents age 65 and over are not required to pay tuition – except fees, when auditing a course. Complete the Audit and Residency Classification forms and provide to the Office of the Registrar a valid State ID, verifying your date of birth.
