Description
Adjunct Faculty hold part-time teaching appointments in various academic departments and programs; adjunct faculty teach courses for credit toward Leighton University degrees. Part-time teaching positions are available throughout the academic year, including summer months. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct high impact research and teach undergraduate Criminal Justice courses in the major Program. Applicants with expertise that matches course scheduling needs will be contacted for an interview. Duties and Responsibilities
Teach courses via online or other web-enhanced modalities as assigned. Submit course syllabus or update department syllabus at least 10 days prior to the first day of class or within five days of the execution of contract. Regularly check the University’s issues leighton email account. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours. Submit final grades for each Term by the deadline established by the Office of the Registrar. Complete required departmental and institutional trainings. Complete all required reports including attendance, progress reports, Early Alerts, grade submissions, return surveys by the required deadlines. Advise the Department Chair at the earliest possible moment when not able to teach a class. Attend called meetings as requested by the Department Chair. Comply with all University’s policies and guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree (Doctorate preferred) in subject matter related to the course being taught OR Master’s Degree in another field and at least 20 graduate credit hours in teaching discipline required. Previous experience teaching at the college level is preferred
