Questions? 662-280-5444
Every time you register, you acknowledge a Financial Liability Agreement informing you of the University's rules regarding your tuition bill and what happens to the account if it becomes delinquent. If you do not pay charges owed to Leighton University on time, your account will become delinquent and possibly go into default. If your student account remains past due without payment arrangements, additional steps may be taken to collect the outstanding balance. A financial hold will have already been placed on your ability to register, request transcripts, view grades, re-admission, diplomas, and/or certifications are denied until the delinquency or default has been satisfied.
The following may also occur:
- Financial Holds will be placed on your ability to register if you have past due tuition or fees.
- A Payment Plan does not remove holds. However, a payment plan in good standing will prevent referral to collection agencies.
- Should your account become severely delinquent, it will be sent to our off-campus collection agency.
- Additional fees may be charged to you, including collection fees based on a percentage of 33.3% of the amount owed.
- Loans may be reported to national Credit Reporting Agencies and become part of the data used to determine your credit history.
- If you have trouble making your scheduled loan payments, do not hesitate to ask for help. Don't wait until a default occurs.
- Students whose account is not considered current are not eligible to register, receive credential recommendations or career services.
- Accounts must be paid in full before a student can receive their diploma nor be able to register for classes.
