Refund Payment
To expedite the refund process, an electronic deposit of student refunds is encouraged for the delivery of student refunds. The students is expected to set up a direct deposit profile to have refunds deposited to a checking or savings account with their name. The University will not accept the use use of card numbers or numbers from any other card to set up direct deposit. Bank card numbers will not work. ONLY USE a checking or savings account number that has your name associated with the account. Unless your name appear on the bank account the refund will be rejected and returned to the University. If you are unsure whether or not the numbers you are entering are checking or savings account numbers, CALL YOUR BANK for confirmation. Students without direct deposit will have paper checks mailed to the address on file.
Withdrawal and Refund
Unless you officially inform the Office of the Registrar and complete all withdrawal requirements, you will not be eligible for a refund. The effective withdrawal date is when the Office of the Registrar receives written notice. No refunds will be made until the add/drop period concludes. Students receiving a University Scholarship or other financial support from a third party (employer or other) should contact the Student Accounts Office to ascertain the effect of a withdrawal on their financial aid eligibility. Some general fees and deposits are nonrefundable.
Private Sponsorship
An employer or other entity frequently pays student charges or a portion of student charges; it is considered a Private sponsor or private scholarship. The student is responsible for having the private sponsorship form completed and sent to the Student Accounts Office. The sponsor received a bill from the University for charges on your student account. Check by the third party are made payable to Leighton University. Funds will be applied to your account, and you will see the payment reflected on your statement. Checks payable to both the University and the student must be endorsed by the student at the Cashier Window or before mailing it to the University.

Delinquent Payment Policy
Students who do not pay their balance(s) either in advance of or according to the payment option they choose will be subject to withdrawal for non-payment unless they have made special arrangements for unusual circumstances with the Student Accounts Manager. Suppose the account becomes delinquent before the next enrollment Term. In that case, a hold will be placed on the account, which will prevent registration in future Terms. In addition, a late fee will be assessed if fees remain unpaid after the end of the Second week of the following Term (whether the student is registered or not).
The University will make a reasonable effort to contact the student and collect the outstanding balance. However, suppose the University's attempts are unsuccessful. In that case, the account will be turned over to an agency for collection or to attorneys for litigation. The student will be responsible for all costs, including collection agency fees ( up to 33 1/3 percent on the assigned balance), attorney fees, and variable court costs.
Third-Party Tuition Reimbursement
As tuition reimbursement programs usually return funds to employees or others directly, the University does not consider them Third Party SPONSORSHIPS. You will have to pay the University by the expected billing statement due date and then obtain reimbursement from your employer.
Financial Holds
A financial hold is a block placed on a student account that prohibits you from performing an action such as registering for classes, accessing grades online, requesting a transcript, or receiving the diploma. A student account with outstanding balances after the end of the second week of the Term may receive a financial hold. No financial hold may be released unless the account balance(s) is/are paid in full, or the student shows proof that the final payment method is received and verified. Ordinarily, any payments made by personal checks for over $2,000 may require an additional three-day hold before a billing hold is released.
Please respond immediately to any past due notices and make arrangements with the Student Accounts Office to satisfy any financial obligations.
